ZIL — LCARS tiling window manager for macOS

ZIL is a tiling window manager for macOS 26 and later, built for large and ultrawide displays. Dynamic tiling — dwindle splits, a master-centre layout that puts your main work in the middle of a 32:9 desk, drag-to-resize bars, focus-follows-mouse — wrapped in a working, fan-made LCARS console. The frame around your windows is not decoration: it lists them, switches workspaces, and reads out live CPU, memory, Wi‑Fi, and SSD telemetry. Native Swift, Developer ID‑signed and notarized, and it runs with SIP on — Accessibility is the only permission it ever asks for.

ZIL is live and free to download — Apple silicon, macOS 26 or later. Get it at zil.daystra.com, or get in touch about how we build with it.
